A Year of Excellence & Impact

2024 was a truly monumental year for Iniala, marked by a series of remarkable achievements that showcase our commitment to excellence and innovation.

Here are the highlights of our standout achievements.

Forbes Five-Star Recognition

For the third year running, Iniala has been honoured as Malta’s only Forbes Five-Star hotel. This prestigious recognition places us among the finest in the world, a testament to our commitment to excellence in hospitality.

Malta’s Leading Boutique Hotel 2024

Iniala won Malta’s Leading Boutique Hotel award at the 2024 World Travel Awards, a significant achievement that underscores our commitment to providing unparalleled luxury, service, and a unique guest experience.

Awards for Visionary Leadership

Our founder, Mark Weingard, was honored with the Great Sea Award for the Promotion of Sustainable Tourism Business Policy. Mark’s vision for regenerative tourism, along with his investments in sustainable luxury at Iniala, continues to set a global benchmark for responsible tourism.

Team Excellence

We’re proud of our talented team members, including Kyle Pace Cumbo, Group Sales and Marketing Director, who was honoured with the Above and Beyond Award from LoveTravel for his dedication and hard work in advancing our brand.

ION Harbour Makes History in Malta

Our flagship restaurant, ION Harbour by Simon Rogan, continues to shine with numerous accolades. Not only did it make history as Malta’s first restaurant to earn two Michelin stars, but it also received multiple awards from the Restaurants Malta Awards.

Other Culinary Achievements

ION Harbour was further recognised on La Liste’s 1000 Best Restaurants in the World, as well as earning three forks for its culinary excellence. Simon Rogan also received the Great Sea Award for his role in promoting Mediterranean cuisine and beverage products internationally.

Community Impact

Iniala expanded its support for local communities by opening a state-of-the-art crew house for our staff and partnering with two NGOs: Din l-Art Helwa and Victory Kitchen Malta. These initiatives reflect our deep commitment to people, heritage and the environment.

In 2024, we’ve continued to demonstrate that excellence is a journey, not a destination, and we remain committed to evolving and making meaningful contributions to the future of luxury and sustainability.
